Stuck between a rock and a hard place. Damn financial shit. I have a love-hate relationship for my decision to take the 9 month vet. assisting course. Knowledge is power...unless you can't do a damn thing about it.

Besides, well..the obvious.. money and crap. I can't afford (personally) to be one of those people who puts the veterinary world in jeopardy because they can't afford to take their pets to the vet.

But, it's reality. The dogs are overdue on their vaccinations, which could be worse... Dillon's of age that a DVM won't push to vaccinate..but boarding facilities aren't so lenient. They want the papers, or no go.

It's Charlie that kills me, every day. Even lying around reduces him to the constant panting, snorting, struggling for the right amount of oxygen. He can't relax for decent periods of time, because he wakes himself up...like freakin apnea. A short walk leaves him panting and breathing heavily/snort-gurgling for over an hour after.

He loves playing, loves fetch, loves to run, but can we take him to the dog park? No.

There are times where he's breathing so hard i can actually feel how tight his throat is, trying to freakin' breathe. How his eyes bulge (more than usual), and his gums are dark blue-ish, and continue on that route.

Cyanotic. An animal isn't getting enough oxygen.

Yet, like every dog, it doesn't faze him from living life. He licks...obsessively. He plays fetch in the house. He's quirky. I've done my research on elongated soft palates. Would be nice of the world to put up some info in dogs that aren't *puppies*.

I need to do...something. I've started my dog walking/sitting business. I'll be starting a job at an animal hospital once they stop being ass-hats and get on it. February is a long time to drag someone around, i think.

Have some damn respect.

But i'm going to pull as much weight as i can without dropping dead. I'll work more shifts...whatever.

I don't really care.

When a parent will move mountains for their kids...no matter what the cost...it's no different with people.

Only..some people will sooner put down a dog than pay a bill.

Craziest part of this? Behavior wise, he's more balanced than Dillon. *snorts*
