My Mother is a Teacher Stalker

But i guess its alright...

She and dad went out to dinner at Majors Steak House last night.

She calls me up with, "Guess who's eating here?"

Lots of people eat at Majors o.O

"Lorraine!" she sounded pleased. "Or at least...i think its Lorraine. I mean, she looks exactly like Lorraine, but her hair is different.."

Its the closest to babbling i've heard my mother get.

"I think its her," Mom continued. "I'll find out. She'll need to use the bathroom eventually. Talk to you later" and she hung up.

Use...the bathroom...eventually? Dear god, my mother was going to stalk a former teacher that might not be my former teacher.

Phone rang a few minutes later.

"Its her!" Agent Mom announced. "Her hair was just different." There were a few muffled sounds, then another voice came on. Not my mother's voice.

Lorraine was very pleased to hear from me. As you HH girls know her daily disposition...right. Asked how i was doing, how was college, etc etc.

and i blurted, "I've written essays right through without shutting down."

With my previous history in HH of having issues with writing essays in class, and therefore shutting down, i think i somehow formed a code that meant:

"I'm doing great. I came this far. Thanks."

She got that, i think.

We said goodbye at that point, probably because she or my mother had some sort of decadent steak waiting back at the table (I had opted not to go out, and had a thing of Easy Mac. Oh yeah, you're jealous).

Mom later told me that they'd had a small discussion about me not continuing aftercare at HH. She told me Lorraine couldn't have been happier when she found out.

She told my mother she was glad i didn't do it. "She had grown up" were apparently the words. "It was best for her to move on"

So Lorraine, thanks for the words of wisdom and remaining to be there for me.

And mom, thanks for not informing Lorraine that Dan was my favorite teacher
