I'm scared of giving insulin.
There. i said it.
It's just...one of those things.
Sure, maybe one day i could open an animal with a scalpel...save a life, feel good about that.
But now? I'm scared of giving insulin. I'm not a technician...i'm the kennel attendant. I can distribute meds to boarding animals, eyedrops, ear drops. I can snap on a pair of gloves and slather a bouncing animal with no problem.
But insulin...insulin is different. All meds, naturally, are crucial, but there's something about insulin that gives me anxiety. It's kind of...different then popping Prednizone into a pill pocket or whatever. I've given boarding animals their insulin shots, and believe me, i get the same feeling every time:

Yeah. That thought. Boss called earlier to let me know we have a diabetic cat boarding this weekend. And if i'll be alright giving insulin on my own.
proveyourselfproveyourself you took care of dogs with insulin no problem. Never given insulin to a cat before. God, i'm paranoid, i hear them laughing...veterinary assisting class...the bitches, not the nice ones...mocking my shaking hands as it takes me several attempts to fill a syringe.
Played it safe. "I'll be fine, but just to be sure, could a tech talk me through it tonight with the cat?"
Fair 'nough...i didn't sound like a novice, but i didn't act like i knew it all.
Lotsa cleaning to do tomorrow...one more Sunday after this to use before the AAHA evaluation.
I need to chill out- big time. s'aaaalll good.
Looking into a trip to NY, maybe before the christmahannakwanzaa holiday, cause we get busy on holidays and all.
But, i mean...my timing really sucks. I'm used to Arizona weather now. First visit back to NY- December. Brilliant, me. Freakin' freezing..snowy..slushy. Second visit..rained 99.9% of the time. Go back to NY when it's freezing. Hell, i don't have winter clothes
Whatever. Someone just..shut me up.

I'm like Alvie from House. Um. Yeah. I'm in the middle of a manic high, possibly? Oshit, mate. Aaand we're down.
BOOOM
